i have to agree with everyone for NNs. mine have the best personalities of all the chickens i have. they are the first ones to run up to you and one will even fly up on your shoulder. they are excellent layers. mine started laying at 4 months(in august or sept.), stopped few weeks ago and just started laying again. they are such commical birds and love attention. i havent had one go broody yet but i did hatch some of their eggs and the chicks are growing up just like their parents. they get along so well with other chickens (except my sumatra but thats her fault). as far as looks go,i think theyre cool. i would choose NNs over any other breed.

My bro hates them because he doesnt like the necks.

you either love them or you dont. theres not much in between.

I recently learned that Show Girl Silkies (the ones with naked necks) are crosses of Turkens and Silkies! I guess someone truely loved the unusuals.

I have a white NN roo and a buff hen. I had more and a friend wanted some and I plan on trying to breed some this spring. I at first thought they were ugly but now I just love them...Mine are so friendly and I got them at a auction...everyone thought they were ugly so I got them cheap. I plan an having some more soon I hope. If you want something to talk about geta Turkin as it will really start a conversation...
