Hi all!
I am normally pretty good at sexing my turkeys (I just wait until they gobble or lay eggs). But this little guy I'm not so sure about. I don't have pics right now, will get them tomorrow.
He is a bronze and bourbon red cross. He has a rather big snood, but besides that I can't see anything else indicating that he's a male.
I need to know what gender he is soon, because I need a thanksgiving turkey. I would like to butcher my old male, but if I don't have another male to take his place I can't butcher him.
Does anyone know how to sex turkeys?

So sorry I don't have pics yet. I promise, will get them as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance to anyone who enters! :)

How old is he? The males get a longer snood, face can get pretty red when worked up, get a bald head, get curicles, will gobble back at you eventually. Females have tiny snoods, not as red in the face, with a little mohawk of feathers up the back of the head.

Well, my turkey hen hatched two poults, one pure bourbon red and a crossbred.
The bourbon seems to have a smaller snood, but I still can't tell. Like I said, I normally just wait.
I'll get pics in just a minute.
Thanks for replying!

Ok, here are two pics of the bourbon red.

Next is the one I think is a boy. He is the closer, less blurry turkey. The other is his mom, who still babys them.

His face turns really red when the other tom isn't around.

I think the bourbon is a jenny and bronze is a jake. The bronze doesn't gobble? I can gobble at mine to get them to gobble back.

He isn't that old yet, and he's really small. Besides, we have another bigger and meaner male. I'm just guessing that the older male is the reason that he's not gobbling.
Thanks for your help, grealty appreciated!
