Turkey Talk for 2014

My 2 turkeys are 1 month old now & still in the house as they are atill getting feathers. May have to stick to the 2 mo till outside but they are getting BIG. I feed them a mix of turkey crumbles & chick startee & they are doing great. Was tols if I mixed the food they wouldnt grow as fast? They are for pets as of now but we will see

Are they broad breasted?

Thanks Chickadoodles!

I love the pictures! I am busy with hatchers and incubators too. I have two incubators ( the hard plastic covered Styrofoam ones) I incubate in one, I hatch in the other and I use the turner out of the hatcher to store my eggs I plan to incubate. It save me having to remember to turn the eggs....

I can see by your pictures that first one is going to have an attitude....

That is what I was doing. But I could not keep up that's why we built the hatcher. 25 eggs a week is not that many but I was needing another bator. I still have customers waiting on them to hatch. lol

Have fun is all I can say!

Yes it did the lady that got her messaged me and told me she escaped from her brooder and was walking around the living room till she saw her and came straight to her. lol

I haven't had a tom age out yet, but you should be able to breed him until he's four years old if not longer. Unless the next generation produces a better tom, of course...

Ok question are these two big enough to go outside. I have had them a month on the 8th :) they are back in house now dont want them to get cold. It is dropping to 30's still but I figured some sunshine wouldnt hurt them they loved it

I just tossed 17 bbw outside that are about 5 weeks old. Still reaching freezing at night on occasion here in Ohio but mine had to go out because I moved. This will be the 3rd night & no casualties. I lost 3 chicks from the cage beside them, 1 the same age & 2 4 week old broilers, but they were overcrowded. I had 29 in the cage & no lamps for anyone. Just a blanket over the cage sitting inside the coop that doesn't have doors on yet.
