Can anyone tell me if the araucanas for sale at ridgeway hatchery in Ohio are araucanas or possibly Easter Eggers. They don’t have pics of them on their price sheets. Thank you!

EEs. Araucanas are quite rare and because they carry lethal genes, the chick mortality rate is high. I don't think any hatchery breeds them. A few hatcheries carry the Ameraucana now (no lethal genes in those) and the price per chick is significantly higher. If the chicks are about the same price as their other offerings, that's a guarantee you're getting EEs.Can anyone tell me if the araucanas for sale at ridgeway hatchery in Ohio are araucanas or possibly Easter Eggers. Ideal sends lots of sexlinks out as "males for warmth". I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sandhill does as well.If you had fillers, those are definitely the two with brown leakage. Sex links. You can tell roosters at hatch, so they just get rid of them by sending them to you.
Yeah. That's what I was getting at.Ideal sends lots of sexlinks out as "males for warmth". I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sandhill does as well.
I have a better opinion of the practice when they call them "males for warmth" rather than "filler" which is too ambiguous. Ideal will also mark them if you ask.Yeah. That's what I was getting at.
Yeah, we were lucky we did an order call from then once, and the lady happened to mention the males. We quickly bought a heat pad to go with them instead!I have a better opinion of the practice when they call them "males for warmth" rather than "filler" which is too ambiguous.
