@seminolewind , never mind, I forgot that I included the pdf, and it does in fact say that the chick tested negative for mycoplasma species.

 , you might want to call your state vet and ask about have one of their testers come and draw blood and collect a nasal swab. Many states will do it for free or a very low cost.

Thanks Kathy, good idea....i will look into doing that. Thanks for all the literature you sent. I really appreciate everyone taking time to reply and offer me advise and suggestions.
 
On my list of things to learn is how to do my own fecals. cultures and sensitivities. All I have to do is set up the "lab" (scope, centrifuge, oven, etc) , do a bunch of reading and figure it out. DH has been quite supportive and is quite interested in learning as well. Will also need to learn how to draw blood.
