One for my Northern friends..
U know it is WINTER when your CHICKENS "AND" ____ are..
When it takes only 5 minutes to feed your Chickens.
But it takes 15 mins to put on layer after layer of clothing and coat/gloves before you feed![]()

My poor ducks go tumbling and quacking to the other side of the coop when I open the door now. My chickens are too cold to care.Better yet, you know it's winter when your chickens are afraid of you because you're so wrapped up in winter gear that they don't recognize you.At this point, mine are mostly used to the winter boots, coveralls, and hat again from last winter, but I got a new set of black gloves a couple days ago and apparently they are the scariest black gloves to ever exist.
Maybe it's because my usual color is red?
Oh, goodness, this is too true! I was just lamenting this the other day as I prepared to go out for the nightly coop closing...

They probably think the Michelin Man is hungry for duck dinner. My poor ducks go tumbling and quacking to the other side of the coop when I open the door now. My chickens are too cold to care.![]()
