Uhhh... wait... Barnvelder or Welsummer?

Feed store had "Assorted dark egg layers, Barnvelders and Cuckoo Marans" But, shouldn't my little Barnvelder be a lot darker? Obviously she's not a Cuckoo Marans, I have one of those too. But she doesn't look very dark and barnveldy either.

Sounds like they got their sign wrong. It should have said "Assorted Dark Egg Layers, Barnevelders, Cuckoo Marans, Etc." Because I think you're right that your chick's a Welsummer!
