Ahhhh I came home from work today and popped in the garden and my girlies literally sprinted over to see me, making all sorts of cute noises! It was so nice!
They have been coming to see me since I got them but today they were like proper little excited children!!
My husband said they are probably just after food but they freerange all day so they’re not hungry and I took various treats out for them and they didn’t really touch them (they’re very fussy chickens!) so I think maybe they were actually just genuinely happy to see me??
Do your girls come to see you just for you? Am I being daft?
I’m feeling like a proper chicken mama haha!

My chickens are always happy to see me. Probably because they do genuinely love me! Most probably because I feed them! Either way it always makes me feel happy!

I have the same coop, and agree it's a doddle to keep clean, and no mites or other nasties as yet (I've had it about 18 months now). It was expensive, even second hand, but I think it was worth it because neither I nor my girls get bitten by mites (which were such a pain that ultimately they drove my sister to give up keeping hens).

Im not trying to seperate this forum up but i thought it would be nice to know who and how many UK based members there are here

The main reason is then as the members in USA conduct Egg Swaps and Counrty and County based Sales and Advice then we can see who would be best to ask for local advise

I don't have any, I keep around 20 breeding show-winning ducks and geese, as well as 250 mallards and around 200 pheasants. What do you keep? Are you from the UK?

Wow! Lots of water birds
I have around 60-ish chickens. About 20 of those are rare Breda Fowl - then I have my egg ladies..
I live in the Finger Lakes region of NY state.
