I have 5 quails. I did have more but I thinned out somewhat. I may get some more in the summer but I need to reevaluate the run I have. I want something bigger for them.Is there anyone out there that keeps quail too? Thanks![]()
I will keep it at 3 for now as my coop and garden are tiny tiny. I also live in the middle of the town so the neighbours wouldn't be happy I think. Don't give me naughty ideas...Hi. You've gotta have good neighbours! Especially if you have escapees. I started with 6 and a coop and run. Now I have 21 hens, 3 coops and 2 enclosed runs. They also have half my garden now!! But they're worth it!! I like expensive eggs!!I will keep it at 3 for now as my coop and garden are tiny tiny. I also live in the middle of the town so the neighbours wouldn't be happy I think. Hi, I have their run covered in tarpaulin with plenty of straw in there. Its pretty cozy really and they are free to go in and out the coop when they want. They seem pretty ok ive been in there with them probably about 6 times today coz im daft like that, Ive added straw everywhere and been checking their water and giving them some extra corn etc. Its been snowing and windy and probably down to minus 10 today. Nice to see pics of everyones runs in the snow. Joff seems to be ok in himself not so much like he has a cold now.@Warriorgal have you bought your hens in?!
Hey Welcome... I also have 3 hens and a boy. Still too early for eggs yet. Lets home the snow eases off soon. Chickens are pretty robust with the cold weather but I guess extra straw would be welcomed. Im sure you will have noticed that there are lots of people on here with tips, ideas and support. What breed of chickens do you have ?Hi, new one here in Cambridge. Just started last week with three hens and boy they don't like the snowstorm.
I've got the Speckled Barred 1x, Rhode Rock Nera 1x and Goldline 1x. I would like to get a blue egg layer but they are hideously expensiveHey Welcome... I also have 3 hens and a boy.
