It's seems it's a steep learning curve for us all at the moment! How long do you have to do that for? Can't be for more than a week or two? Can it?

Well it's been a busy evening. I've nearly got the loft together. There hasn't been two bits of wood the same. All the uprights different lengths the floor was wider at one end than the other! The roof wasn't level. And the doors are wonky! I've had to start from scratch with it. But it's alot better and nearly done.
I've ran out of any meaningful leghths of wood so I couldn't finish the top nesting box. I'm going to double it up as a capture box with the bobwires and a hatch that can double as a landing platform!
I think so! If I didn't have that little bird end up in my garden I probably wouldn't have got any. But when it kept coming back it was a real buzz!Wow, well, it didn't take long for you to become a pigeon fancier! I'm sure you will find it enjoyable!
About that I think. It's seems it's a steep learning curve for us all at the moment! How long do you have to do that for? Can't be for more than a week or two? Can it?

I think the best ratio is 1 to 1. It is not easy to know the gender of a pigeon until it pairs up and lays an egg.I might found someone in Sheffield with some 4 mth old racers for sale. I'm wondering what the best ratio of male to female would be. Boomer is female so I was thinking maybe two males to four females. Six in total including Boomer.
Not as massive as with chickens! If you get youngsters you just have to take your chances, it will be ok.So if he's not sure of the sex would it be a massive problem if I ended up with more males than females?
