UK pigeon owners

Boomer strikes again! She's lost squeak again :(. Let them out tonight, they had a good fly around, three came back, boomer came back just as it was getting dark, without squeak. So the traps open hopefully he'll be back in the morning. :fl
Squeak? :fl

I think I'm going to start a new business stuffing pillows with pigeon feathers! Everybody seems to be molting in the loft now! Under the loft and on the tray inside is just feathers everywhere! There all over the garden and blowing into my garage! Two of the older ones look quite funny with most of there head feathers missing and the new pin feathers coming through! And I'm not even going to mention the sorry state some of my hens are looking in at the moment!

I want to let some out for a fly but it seems we have a bit of a storm going on at the moment with high winds and heavy rain. Looks like autumn has well and truly landed. I think I'll just batten down the hatches and see how it is at the weekend.

You are not alone. Mine are going thru a massive ugly molt as well. Getting ready for winter I guess.:)

I let the last five youngsters out for the first time today. They were very apprehensive at first but soon they took to the wing! Of sorts, more of a flutter!

Unfortunately the Great British weather struck and the wind and rain returned. Four went back in and the last let me pick it up and put it in the trap. Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow and I'll try again. I now only have 3 that I haven't flown. The one with the broken leg is looking great but I'm going to give him another 2 weeks before I let him out. The other two are sat on plastic eggs! How long until they give up?
