We had a GSHP growing up. GREAT dog! I think they are more of a "flushing out" and "pointers" of where the birds are for the hunter, THUS...maybe Sadie is saying "There's the birds Dad, there's the birds". What a great dog. Enjoy her. My Dad certainly missed our girl Dixie.

My Weim is smart....and dumb

Smart in that she knows so many words,commands etc. She knew what the word BIRD meant so we had to be sure not to call the chickens that. Now I can ask her "Where's mommy's chickens?" and she'll go to the closest brooder

Dumb in that she likes to eat their poop

Awwwww, Sadie looks like my step dad's dog Britta. (she's been gone about 4 years now)

My step dad used to hunt ducks and Britta was his hunting dog. It always amazed me how she wouldn't bother the wild turkeys or the ducks at his house. She would guard them and protect them. But if he got his hunting gear out - she knew it was time to "play".
