Umbilical cord?pasty butt?

My little chick is 3 days old. She is pooping fine but the hole right below has a large (for her) dark scab it wasn't there yesterday or was unnoticeable yesterday. I have been checking them for pasty butt and noticed this. Is this pasty butt or just her umbilical cord? Why would it be more relevant today than yesterday?

That's probably just her umbilical cord. Pasty butt is over the cloaca. So if you when pick her up and look you see the cloaca winking at you (if you know what I mean), you're in the clear.

Do not try to remove the scab. You could accidentally disembowel the chick.

Thanks. I didn't touch anything. I just read everything I could and looked at pictures to make sure that's what it was.
