Yesterday I picked up some 3 day old chicks at the local feed store. Once I got home I realized one still had her yolk sac attached and is much smaller than the others. I kept her separated, gave her nutri-drech, heated with a heating pad and in a cozy soft blanket. I kept the yolk sac as moist as I could yesterday. Yesterday she was chirping no problem but wouldn't eat just drink.
Today when she woke up she would chirp and no sound would come out. She drank quite a bit but still no sound. Its not heat and its not mouth breathing. I can hear a faint sound if I put her to my ear.
I went to change her blanket just now and she stumbled a bit and her sac broke. Yolk started leaking out, she started trying to eat it. I got her calm again and she is sleeping in her blanket.
Not sure what I need to do to give her the best chance at life? Any suggestions are appreciated!

This was her yesterday. She’s currently on a heating pad, in a blanket. Eyes closed and trying to chirp here and there. When her sac broke I freaked out and just cleaned it up so I didnt get any pics of her.

Not sure how helpful this is but it’s some of the yolk that came out.

Chicks can survive a broken yolk sac but it can leave them extremely weak and open to infection. Make sure you keep the navel clean and keep her away from the other chicks for a bit (as they'll peck at the opening). Give her some electrolytes & probiotics if you have them on hand. Also I apologize this is in a quote, it keeps making it a quote despite me trying to fix it 😥.

No worries about the quote =)
I have been giving her Nutri-Drench mixed with water since yesterday...Yesterday when I would give it to her she would perk right up. Today she seems weaker but she is still drinking it via a dropper. How would I best keep it clean? She is so small I dont want to get her too wet.

I just tried to take updated pics of her too

Betadine, chlorhexidine, & vetericyn are all good wound cleaners. You can also apply a tiny bit of neosporin (without pain killer in it) to it.

I'm really surprised the chick supplier sent out a chick like this! So sorry.

I can get some meds this evening. I am hoping she makes it but she is so much weaker than yesterday.
When I told the feed store they gave me a replacement bird and said they would take her. I didnt want her to die in a back room alone so I said I would keep her to see if I could save her, or at least give her a warm cozy home until she passes.
The feed store is known for good quality chicks so clearly the hatchery did not check them well this year which kinda sucks. I have gotten most my birds there and never even seen a sick looking chick there like you see at chain stores.
