Undying urge to hatch more eggs...

But I don’t have enough room for one more chick. Though you should have seen me peeking my head in at the feed store to look at all the little chicks and ducks... I was like, hmmm, ducks next? Ooohh! They have silkies? And Cochins? And wait, are those silver laced Wyandottes?
My husband is already planning for the future, our next house "needs" to have a pond so we can get ducks. Or geese. And I have several more breeds I'd like to try out, and also leaning toward getting some heritage breeds, purebred Ameraucanas, cream legbars, some silkies would be cool, and the breeds with lacing or double lacing. Yeah, some of them too!

I only use my incubator for semi to rare breeds only. The common breed aren't worth hatching, I kind of sound like a chicken breed snob, lol. But seriously that's all I'm interested in.
Quality over quantity is often the best choice. I grew up with horses so the whole issue with people breeding whatever backyard nag they had never sat well with me. I'd love to raise some fancy purebred chickens but we aren't there yet.

Chicken mutts are easier than horse mutts as you can eat them and they also don't live 20 to 30 years and cost an arm and a leg to feed and care for every month 😁

Honestly, it's probably an unpopular opinion but I like chicken 'mutts' as much as the fancy ones. Just overall color and personality. But I'm sure that can be said for the fancy ones too! 😁

Does the urge to constantly put more eggs in the incubator ever go away? Honestly this must be how broody hens feel. As soon as it got warm out it's like all I've wanted to do is hatch more chickens/ducks/etc 😂. I swear if I had more room I'd probably have like 5 incubators going. It's so addicting. Anyone have this problem? 😅
I sure do! I'd say it's one addiction which is harmless.
Keep hatching!! :)
