It's been 18-20 hours. I have moistened the membrane, but it keeps drying. Humidity is as high as I can get it, 67% currently. Saved this egg from the coop (mom gave up on it). Pip is on smaller end. Should I help, and if so, how??

Here’s the reference I used to save my malpositioned chick. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching.64660/
I had to help mine otherwise she wouldn’t have been able to make it out of the shell. Give the link a read. But what I did was make the pip hole a bit bigger and checked for veins. When I saw there were none I opened the membrane to help her out. By the time I did help her out she had gotten weaker.

@FoodFreedomNow I was just typing this as you posted. 🤣

You need to get that chick out of the egg before it dies in the shell or develop disabilities. Use tweezer to peel the shell away then peel the membrane carefully till most it is gone then let the chick rest.

Stick a semi wet sponge in the incubator to raise the humidity.
