Update: crop surgery with graphic photos

I don’t like the looks of the poop. (I have one like that right now, but her behavior is good.) Poop aside, have you looked her over for parasites? If she’s indoors and happened to bring any in on her, they could have multiplied without the ability to dust bathe. (Just a side note since her feathers are looking a little rough.) Is she preening normally, at least before she started feeling bad again?
I do think tube feeding might help if she is losing strength.

I've always used 250mg once a day. @Eggcessive likes to do 250mg twice a day. So there appears to be leeway. I've treated very sick hens with the 250 mg once a day and they've responded well.

The crop should have completely emptied. If there is any amount of mushy content, I would suggest starting the miconazole. This isn't going to make her weaker and could help her feel better pretty quickly.

You do need to prepare to tube feeding. How do you feel about it? Are you confident you can do it? Do you need some pictures and instructions?

Has she been getting grit? I'd offer her some grit immediately if she hasn't had any for a while.

I just remember that Casportpony has said that her vet recommends 57 mg per pound twice a day. There are dosages all over the place when looking up dosage online. Plumbs Veterinary Drug Handbook says that 150-175 mg once or twice a day, or 100 mg 3 times a day is safe for birds. Here is Plumbs link for those who want to see it on page 48:

@azygous she has had grit offered to her everyday (ive been putting some in her food dish) I will start the miconazole again straight away, and I will tube feed, if you have some pictures that would be helpful, ive tube fed puppies in the past but never a chicken. Ive realized since her not feeling so well again how sick she must have been when I very first brought her inside because it used to be so easy to medicate her, now she puts up more of a fight, or she's just thinking like really lady, again! stop forcing stuff down my throat! Would sour crop cause a temperature? Or were assuming sour crop with and internal infection?
