Update: crop surgery with graphic photos

Ive definitely been giving her treats, she has been eating her feed but not very well so ive basically been letting her eat whatever she wants with hopes that she will put on some weight. Yeah I took a close look at her vent it looks normal to me very small lol but normal. Im definitely open to tube feeding, right now all she wants is meal worms and fruits and veggies. But I know she's not eating enough of those to really nourish herself. Would you recommend the baytril again? im kind of nervous to use it because she lost her appetite really bad while on it the first time ?
Last year I had a hen on Baytril. When she seemed to start relapsing later, I thought it seemed too early to put her on Baytril again, so treated her with doxycycline. She did great.

Yes! I like amoxicillin very much for chickens. It's saved many of my chickens' lives. 250mg per day is what I usually give. Since she's small, it's probably going to be enough. The regimen is for ten days. Interrupting an antibiotic before the end of the recommend regimen can allow the infection to return.

It should take hold quickly. Give her a dose immediately. By morning, she may be interested in eating. But be prepared to tube feed. You can get a kit from most vets. My vet sold me a syringe and tube for $3. I mix a slurry of raw egg and baby food or yogurt and strained baby food. The baby bird formula @micstrachan mentioned is an excellent option.

Good morning! So I gave her the antibiotic last night. And upon inspection this morning her crop was mostly empty, but there was a small amount of mushy contents still left over this morning. Poor girl is still feeling quite lethargic, this is a poop she just had. Seems we can’t catch a break!
