You should just be spraying it real good twice a day with sterile saline solution. It won't hurt her. It's the same as tears, perfectly natural. Pat it dry gently with a clean towel, not cotton balls. Cotton balls will stick to her skin and will hurt when the fibers are pulled off. Then gently coat with the triple antibiotic ointment, like Neosporin. Make sure it's Neosporin ORIGINAL and does not say With Pain Reliever on it. Pain Reliever is toxic to chickens. And that's all! Don't wrap it or cover it. I'm not sure what that yellow is on her skin. Let me ask the Educators, okay?

As for the honey, your mom's right that it can be very healing but I don't think it's necessary at this stage, as it's almost completely healed already. Manuka honey is best, it's medicinal but very expensive. Also honey works best if you put it on a dressing then apply the dressing to the wound - and chickens are notoriously uncooperative about leaving dressings in place!
