How can I get her to stay down and rest? She’s so anxious to get her legs stretched and she just stands now. She rushes to the kennel’s edge when I come by, chirping. I sit down and give her some pets for a while and she simmers down and rests. How can I get her to stay down?
That means she is feeling better, which is great. But that also means she is missing her flock and getting bored of being inside. Take her out for a bit or bring in a calm-tempered chicken like Eggcessive suggested. When Autumn was injured from the hawk attack, I would bring in April to accompany Autumn for a few minutes and then make her go back outside. April usually beats everyone up (including large fowl hens, despite her being a bantam) but she was nice to Autumn, and looked like she was generally trying to figure out what was happening.

Will do.

I brought her friends up to see her. I kept her in the crate so they couldn’t pick at her or anything, but she seems excited to be with them again.
