Update! Pics of Nieves ....Pg. 2

that is actually pretty common for broodies to pull out their chest feathers, they use them in their nests, at least that's what my broodies have done. OO and step to on those pics, I want to see!

You'll have to wait for the pics till Tomarrow.

Her feathers are all over the nest and not on her chest. I think today is day 8 or 9. The problem with her is that she is not protective of her eggs. She lets the other hens lay their eggs there while she's brooding.

My White Pekin hen pulls out her down feathers for the nest,, she also supplies the Runners nest because Hershey doesn't pull her own but her nest has a ton of white feathers in it,, Hershey is a brown Chocolate Runner!

Day two of being broody she started tearing off her chest feathers but not a lot. Just enough to warm up the nest. thats why she still har some feathers there

The only thing that stinks is you can hover
over bators, but you cant hover over broodies

They may do all the work, but they kinda take out
the joy when there hatching.

I kept hovering around her when she was broody and she didn't realy care. I was even able to pet her without her giving a care.
