Update...Protect from lights!!!Blisters on feet

That is kinda weird....things like this drive me crazy until I know what it is....funny, I would think the burn would just be on the bottom where she would have stood on the light...Let us know...

Still don't know what happen to my girls feet. She is standing on them more today. She is getting special treatment with some oatmeal and loving it.

I am getting ready to do a foot soak and medication. I will take some pictures and see if I can load them on here.

I gave my girl a bath with anti bacterial dish soap and blow dryed her dry. I took the skin that was over the blisters and got it off. In two different spots it had green puss. I dug that out with my finger nail...I was wearing gloves! I then put an anticeptic on and massaged it gently. I put her back in her hospital cage and a few hours later I went out there to check on her and I couldn't belive the difference in her feet and the way she was acting. It looked 10 times better and so was she. It is still very painful for her...but improving. I did dip her feet in betadine tonight. I will clean her feet like I did tomorrow, the same way. I am now starting to think that it is indeed bumblefoot, with the green puss I scraped out.

any break or injury to the skin will cause infection (i.e. bumblefoot) ... burns also. Keep the feet clean and remove gently any pus (I suggest you use a chlorhexidine based disinfectant daily...hibiscrub or Novalsan) ... keep all scrupulously clean of course and keep up the good work!

My girl is walking today and her feet look soooo good. Not 100% but a lot better. She still babies it a bit with careful walking...but she isn't crawling anymore.

I am getting ready to soak, dry and medicate.

I think we are on our way.

UPDATE

You can see the scalding marks on the bottom of her toes today, that I couldn't see up until now. She was burnt from that light bulb. One of her little toes is turning black at the nail area. Her blistered areas that I opened are dry and looking better.

Please! Please! Please! Protect your birds from lights. They may get on them for warmth.
