i tend to agree with your reasoning. I had a hatch last summer that was really spread out. Not as dramatic as yours, but still spread out more than normal. Some of those eggs had been stored a few days in temperatures in the low to maybe mid 80's.

Something else that may have contributed. Your incubator may have been running a little warm. That will also cause early hatches. Maybe the two combined gave you such dramatic results?

In any case, congratulations seem to be in order. It does get exciting about now doesn't it?
 
How awesome! I love when the chickies finally hatch! Mine are due to hatch early this week! Good luck on the rest of your hatches!

hello everyone.....it's been a crazy day starting since last night.....out of the 71 eggs i set on my bator who supposedly was due on the 28th-29th, 40 mutts have hatched since last night and still got another 30 working their way out as i type this post.....all together right now i have 55 chicks in the mini brooder i made of carton in my bedroom.....40 from bator and 15 from last hatch i a couple of days ago....here are some pics i took of all chicks and the remaining eggs pipping on my fridge bator.....like i said on my other post......"this is going to be another long night"............

had to improvise and added a old wire mesh i had lying around to prevent the chicks from falling....

I HAVE A GRAND TOTAL OF 115 CHICKS FROM MY HATCHES THAT STARTED ON FEB 20, 2012.....NOW THAT'S A LOT OF CHICKS!!!!!!!!!!!........

......AND HAVE TWO BROODY HENS WITH 13 EGGS EACH AND MY LAST BATOR OF THE SEASON WITH ANOTHER 45 EGGS WHICH I JUST SET A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO.......GOTTA LOVE THEM CHICKS!!!
