You hit it on the head. That is the same thing that I told the postmaster. He said that they wouldn't necessarily realize that it was metal. I was like "HUH"!

I called Amazon and they gave me a number to the company that shipped the tin sign. Poster Revolution is the name. I called them and they have submitted my complaint to another department. They said that I will hear back from someone within 24 hours.

I still can't believe this happened. How could the mail lady BEND A METAL SIGN IN HALF AND SHOVE IN MY MAILBOX???!!!!

Wow, I've never heard of that happening, must have been a "dense" postal carrier or something. I mail out artwork and calendars all the time and I've received no complaints about them getting bent.

This thread prompted me to return to Amazon and hunt down a PC game from 2005. Found it! Next day shipping made the total $16. Pleased! Never have had an issue with them, as big as they are.

Also good for obscure DVDs, my husband got me the sequel to Gone With The Wind.... something I didn't even know existed. I knew there was a book but not another movie.

Also good for hatching supplies. I had some stuff saved to my cart I forgot about... and I could have gotten two games, a DVD, and another Havobator for $66. LOL What store can you fill your cart like that?

i hate our mail man! (sorry for those of you in the industry) they shove everysingle box/mail in our mail box. our postmailer is just too lazy to get out of the car and come drop off the box or whatever at our door. its insane!!! i have made many complaints. i love getting everyone elses mail.

I ordered a video game and legos from A this winter. There was a feedback section in my account where I could rate the packaging.Both my items were rated high since the items were protected. Once you get a refund or new sign I would rate it poor for the package.There must be a better way to package it to prevent the bending.

I might also try to catch the postal person and have a word with them.Might,as I would not want to get my mail strewn in the road.Many don't want to walk to the door and ring the bell.File a complaint on the postal service as well!

So sorry this happened and I hope you get a new sign mailed to you in a cardboard box.Take pics so you can email them to the company.

My only problem with packages has been all companies leaving items on my driveway(gate) or front door(never use).They don't even ring a bell! If I see someone I run out to meet them.

I had the postman from hell at the last place I lived. I was temporarily in a small apartment, complete with tiny little mailbox. He actually BENT a computer CDs in cardboard CD case one day to fit them in the box, instead of leaving it on my doorstep on the 3rd floor. Funny thing? He left packages on my neighbor's rug that day, so he had climbed the steps ANYWAY. It was absolutely CLEAR that this was a CD, too. It was stamped all over the package.

I have had good experiences with Amazon and buying text books from their secondary vendors. I have also had a mailman bend a picture that was sent through the mail (my daughters high school does this now). It was clearly stamped DO NOT BEND - PHOTOGRAPHS.

Luckily it was more curled than bent and I was able to straighten it...

If it says "Do not bend" and the mail carrier bends it, it's the mail carrier's fault.

If it doesn't say "Do not bend" and is packaged in an envelope, then it's the fault of the person or company that packaged it.

If it doesn't say "Do not bend" and is in a solid box and the mail carrier bends it, then I think that would also be the mail carrier's fault. That would be considered a box that was damaged in transit, causing the contents to also be damaged.

Still, it makes you wonder how so many people can be so totally lacking in common sense! I sure wouldn't bend something that had no give, to force it into a receptacle that was too small to hold it. Duh!
