The book I have says when treating for roundworms or cecal worms for just one day with fenbendazole to treat again in ten days, but when treating for just roundworms with piperazine to repeat that in three weeks.

I asked my vet just yesterday about how long to wait for a follow up dosing, she said three weeks.  I told her that everyone on the forums... and she said 'I want you to redoes at three weeks'.  She was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't really get the why of it straight in my mind but that is what she told me.  I think I need to look at the life cycle of round worms.

Oh really. Kathy the one above suggest to do 5 days in a row.

Five days in a row is what you should do. One day then ten days later will *not* treat capillary worms. Start over with today as day one and do five days in a row.

5 days in a row.? This won't harm her will it. Wait so which one you posted about book that said to re dose in ten days?

So that is why she said three weeks, because she is only concerned about round worms. Anyone else reading this should understand that we have done fecal float exams and know what worms these birds have had.

ETA Mike, just do as Kathy said, you are getting confused by what I have said.

Ok thank you both. Doing it 5 days in a row wouldn't harm if it wasn't that bad would it.
I worm mine for five days in a row unless they look like they aren't going to make it though the night. You should probably keep your bird in a warm room (80-85 degrees) and get a kitchen scale.

What do you mean looks like she won't make it through the night. So I went to check her she came down drank water on her own, mixed some powder of there food she took little nibbles. Didn't eat much really but she struggles to get up on roost. Her little neck bone I can feel more like sticks out a bit . Is it by the way she's standing a bit down. When she gets up looks normal like the rest. But it's a bit puffed up by her patch but it's not that. I will be doing the worming when is best time to do it
