That's the hard thing, not knowing if they are still alive. Do y'all think I could hear them chirping through my LG bator?? While they are still in the egg, that is..

Hi Goatkeepers, I was thinking about you while I was hung over the incubator getting a cramp in my neck (note to self - invent front view incubator) listening to the intermittent chirping...

I'm so worried, it's too early, the humidity is still too low.. but what can I do. Sit, wait & let mother nature, who surely knows best, do what's needed.

Have you heard any chirping yet??

I think next hatch, I'm going to rig my camcorder up to the tv, so I can watch the hatch on the couch.. much more comfy that way I suspect

Nothing yet!

I haven't heard any chirps yet, either. *Sigh*

How many have you hatched then, bodyflight? I'm sure they will be fine, day 20 isn't that early. If they are hatching alright your humidity must be decent. Are the membranes dried up? I wanna see some pics of your little ones.

Oh ok, I thought you had hatched ones yet.

I keep checking, shining in there with a flashlight so i can see better, hoping for a pip-- nothing.

this is so nerve wrecking, If I had at least a pip to watch... I am sure they will pip, zip and hatch while I am at work tomorrow

I'll come home and will have missed everything. Are you hatching in egg cartons?

Try to remember that hatch is day 21

When you read of people hatching on day 18, you want that too.
BTW......I could hear them peeping the day before they hatched.......but i am not sure about through the incubator. You shoulda got a stethascope (sp). Did i tell you the lady in upstate NY who was hatching me welsummer chicks had something get into the coop and eat/steal all the eggs? I'm just so glad it did not get her hens. She had a couple peaeggs under the broody too. So i will be
