Updated PICS on pg. 3!! Silver Penciled Wyandotte chicks

Don't lose hope! Visit http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGP/Wyand/BRKWyand.html It has all sorts of Wyandotte pics. You will see that silver penciled cockerels and roos look nothing like the zig-zaggy hens. I'm no expert, Wyandottes are brand new to me, my chicks are due in Feb 23. But I've been trying to learn what I can. Maybe your black chick is the cockerel and your two stripey chicks will both be pullets?

lol ill check it out and thats what i orignially thought but now its looking to be the other way around! those brats!

I'll be getting my silver penciled chicks on Monday or Tuesday so maybe I can help out more then. I'll definitely take pics of the new chicks so I will try to remember to post some here.

Ok great! I would really appreciate it! Where did you get your chicks from? I am looking for more breeds of SPWs.

I just went with McMurray since I couldn't find a local Wyandotte breeder and I'm not ready for hatching eggs. I ordered 5 varieties, SL, GL, Colombian, BLR, and the SP.

They're adorable! That's such a rare variety in Wyandottes, lucky you! They'll be beautiful when mature.

It could be a sex-linking thing, but I haven't the slightest idea. I know with barred babies a larger white spot on the back of the head means it is male, while a small one means it's female. Wait... it might be the other way around. lol. But silver penciling and barring are somewhat similar. Also, silver penciling is essencially a partridge minus the red. You may have only one silver penciled, and the rest are partridge.
