Hi all,

We have a broody on 4 bantam eggs. Day 20 and 3 have hatched in a space of 12 hours.

The last one pipped (like the others) about 24 hours (possibly more?) ago - but towards the pointy end. It's breathing but not zipping.

The hole is quite bit (well, size of a woman's nail) and the membrane was a little dry this morning. I've put coconut oil on it.

What do i do? All other eggs have hatched, so I'm concerned this one might have trouble as the eggs were put under the hen at the same time. It's still breathing and was cheeping a few hours ago.

Is this one having trouble due to facing the pointy end of the egg?
Should I assist?

Thanks so much.

Not chewing but a sort of very slight rocking motion back and forth with its beak?

@Lillith37 thank you! I looked at this article earlier but still not entirely sure. It says to wait, but this chicken is the dame age as the others and no movement in regards to zipping. And the oldest is 16 hours old already!
