I commandeered one of the farm hands lol. They were useful when the chicks were tiny and identical, but they look so different now I don't need them anymore.
Peri is almost walking normally this morning, the other two are still very sore. I'm hoping they don't loose their toes.

The soaking in Epsom salts seems to make the biggest impact on their comfort. Post soak is when they seem to be the happiest and move around the most.
Victoria has some bleeding today, may try and rig up a loose bandage with antibiotic ointment.

Keeping these guys clean is a nightmare.

Can you put a little low roost inside the dog crate through the metal from one side to the other? They might spend more time up on a roost while resting, keeping their feet cleaner. I think you said you switched to pine shavings, but the puppy pads with a layer of paper towel strips can be changed a couple of times a day. You could put that on top of the shavings so you don’t have to dump them out. Just a suggestion. They sure are cuties.

I ended up not switching to shavings as I was worried they would stick to the blisters. I'll put a roost in, but doubt anyone will use it their poor toes are so sore.

Not sure what everyone else thinks, but you could try some Blu-kote and then apply a liquid bandage to the blistered areas... I’m not sure tho whether it would heal faster if you just keep it dry and clean. What do all y’all think?

If the feet begin to "weep" you don't want to seal that up with liquid band aid. BluKote is good for all kinds of things, especially cuts, but the "blue" makes it so hard to see the tissue. Since she will be monitoring for dark, black or dead tissue, the blue might make that harder to notice.

btw - I'm a fan of puppy pads for chicks too

X2!! the blu kote makes distinguishing between the dead tissue and live really difficult. I’ve spent the last month wondering if one of my girls toes was ok or not under all the blu kote I’ve been applying when she would get a little torn and bleed. I wasn’t in a position to keep her on pads or in a “clean” environment though, otherwise I would have skipped it.

I have blue kot, but not intending to use it for reasons stared. The soaking+oil seems to be helping, just need to sort out a better way of keeping them.
