URGENT HELP Chicken Post-op Crop Surgery

I performed surgery an hour ago to remove the impaction in my year-old Silkie's crop because she looked like she was on deaths doorstep when I woke up this morning. I found out she was sick two days ago when she became lethargic, I started her on antibiotics for sour crop yesterday. I sanitized everything for the procedure, wore gloves, followed the directions in my chicken book to the tee, and stiched her up myself with needle and thread. I'm worried she may not have the strength to recover. An hour post op, she is pale and won't even sit up just flops down on her side. I set her on a small heating pad to keep warm. I want to get fluids in her but she wont drink on her own and if I pry open her beak and try to syringe feed I'm afraid I'll drown her. I know she must be in pain but I don't know what to give her that would be safe to help. Any advice would be appreciated! I've worked so hard I don't want to lose her. There aren't any vets near my area that can help.

Its very important to keep her hydrated. I would tube feed her some water or VERY CAREFULLY and slowly drip water into her beak to keep her fluids up. Maybe mix a little honey or electrolytes or nutri-drench into the water if you have it on hand. I have my fingers crossed for you and your little hen!

ETA: I would slowly drip a little water down the side of her beak and she should instinctively drink it as it rolls down.

Tube feed her with electrolyte solution if you have the supplies. Or use a dropper placed near her esophagus not her trachea. You could dissolve some baby aspirin in the solution for pain. With an impaction like that she likely needs some nutrition asap. For a silkie I'd try 1/2 baby aspirin. There are varying opinions on aspirin dose here. Do a search and pick whatever you think she needs.

I wish you could give her an electrolyte IV but you need a drip control and bag and all that stuff . I hope the best for you . I know you did your best and that's all you can do sometimes ! Check out @casportpony it seems to me the was an old post on this .
