Urgent help please - UPDATED Two babies!

Hahah, funny.  Yes, nuts we all are i think. I will keep my fingers crossed for your candling!  What kind of ducklings are you hoping for?

The ones in lock down are pure Appleyard...Appleyard/Buff and Appleyard Call cross....


The others I am having an issue with are Pure Calls.....

I also have a Broody Chicken setting 3 pure Calls and 3 Chicken eggs....And my Buff Duck went Broody and is setting 13 Appleyard Buff cross.......I am Nuts!

Wow! you do sound pretty nuts Appleyards are beautiful and the calls are too, although i have heard that they are really difficult, so i wish you lots of luck with that! At least with the chicken mama you should be able to breathe a little. We had a badger attack a few weeks ago and lost two of our chickens - we are in the middle of organising new fencing - we lifted the eggs and popped them into a very basic - but so far so good - incubator. If i survive the weekend, it will be lockdown on Tuesday which would be day 18. We put them in with our fingers crossed that some might be babies of the two we lost. It was a wing and a prayer really, but so far so good. Somehow, i feel less worried about them - probably because i have been focusing on my duck babies and have been a little obsessive. Do you sell your chicks then, or it the bounty for pure pleasure? I don't know how you sleep. I have been dreaming about hatching chicks/ducklings for weeks and can think of little else i am so excited/nervous/anxious etc etc lol!

lol.....I dream nonstop about these Birds......Its either Birds or Horses......lol.....
I sell my Chicks....So much fun having Broody hens to hatch the Chicks...I do not bother hatching Chicks....I let Hens do that..

So, Willow and Fern seem to be thriving and are enjoying lots of cuddles. They have doubled in size and then some!! They are beginning to walk a little more steadily, but quite often run, then juke down and then tear off again like little torpedoes! They seem bright eyes and happy, so I am over the moon! The duckling adventure is very new to us, but I have been reading lots of the threads which have been so helpful. Thank you for the prompt on the raising and caring sticky; I will definitely have a look! The people on the site have been incredibly generous with their time and knowledge and I have already learned lots, but more to learn!!
