**URGENT**Town & complaints about my roo, They said no to permit, help

I can't believe this. We had neighbors less than ONE BLOCK away that had roosters (our city doesn't allow them at all but these folks didn't know any better) and I could hear them crowing, but only if I really tried. You've got 7+ freackin acres??!!!! There's no way these people can hear your birds.
Sounds like you need to start listening to some hard-core punk music, really LOUD - show her what noisy is really all about!

Oh, and maybe I could send my Harley Davidson-riding neighbors your way - she'd wish all she had to listen to was some little old roosters!
But seriously I really do wish you well - neighbors with nothing better to do than complain are really more than anyone should have to put up with. Best wishes - I hope you get to keep your roos.

My heart really goes out to you right now, especially with your recent loss. I don;t know what it would be but if you are ever in need please feel free to call upon me. I will try to help where I can. I can tell you one thing that has quieted my chickens (quite by accident) I had a little bantam leghorn that would get on the top of the pen railing and crow like crazy (6ft rail) , then let himself out of the pen by flying down. I couldn't have that with all the crazy wild and domestic predators around here so I decided to put one of those plastic lifesize owls on the pen rail, everyone has been quiet for 2 days now!!

Oh and the lady that would shut her mouth, said as she was leaving( shannon i know what it means to have pets as our own children,......
I cut her off and said how dear you, you know nothing about obviously. And then i put my hand up basically to tell her to shut up,

Some people are just...well...I can't say. But yes, the owl worked like a charm. Funny story, the first day I had it up, it was too light and it blew into the pen. You would have thought the world had ended, no one, including the 2 year olds would go near the area, all quiet as a church mouse! Now the bottom is filled with sand and the flock seems a lot quieter. Maybe it will help you. I would call the cops on your offender neighbors though, then again, I would see if an arrangement could be made. From the way it sounds, that is not the case.

I live in the city (New Britain, CT) and have had roos for 25 years. I just make sure to close the door to the hen house at night and open it up no earlier than 7 am. Here we are not suppose to make excessive noise before 7am or after 11pm, like cutting the grass ect.

Yea I think i missed a way very lot of facts that i could have said or bring up at the meeting.

Well i have some one who is coming tomorrow to check out my flock, they may help us out, and let us house them in a barn that he has available for a little bit. He wants see them to make they look healthy first.

Make sure you have a written and organized list of facts and points. If you're speaking, even with a memorized speech, it is very easy to get caught up in the emotion of the moment or in answering a question, and then forget something important.

View your written and organized list as being back in English Composition and writing a persuasive essay.

I wish i thought about that before hand.
LOL Yep that is what happened, There was a lot i should have known about to bring up in there.

Well i will find homes for the ones that i don't need to keep.
And keep the rest quick as possible until i find another place.
