**URGENT**Town & complaints about my roo, They said no to permit, help

What you are doing is very healthy...

Keeping Roos in until later...

Talking to the neighbors and finding out how they feel about your living situation....etc...

What humboldtchicken said may be your only option....

I know it's difficult because there has already been a complaint.....

However.....

Put your best face on and move forward.....Unfortunately at times...we do have to live together...(unless you move way out)

Best Of luck To You!!!

Sounds like you have two ordinances, one on hens and one on roosters. You have to have a permit to have one or both? Is it just a permit for the roosters? Someone is obviously complaining about the roosters, talk to everyone near you. If its not a city and you have that many acres, what is the problem? How far are you from your neighbors? Go out and measure the length you are from them, take this info in when you get permit. Does your landlord have roosters also? You can find the town ordinances online, takes a little searching but its usually there. Good luck.

yea seriusly, one of the neighbors had a promblem with our landlord since he corrected them on his property line, they tryed to take his. so since then, they have called cops on cook outs, i mean even the cops said us i dont know why im hear, but i have to come, they said that if they called the cops agian they would tell them ok, and not come.

Thats is good idea, when we got our first rooster ever, we were in a camp ground i know dareing, but when it started crowing my husband made a box just like that, and it worked, i should do that again, thanks.

Ok so i have all birds coops back in my garage, dont worry there are no car fumes or gas smells of any sort.

So far 2 said they did not hear anything the past nights,

Awww I hope this goes good,

So im going to the town hall today with the paper to ask for a specil permit.

The board of health told me that they are not giveing permits for roosters, but not to worry that if the specail permit passes that they will just include the roosters on that permit so if any one calls after that they will have on paper that they allowed them,

But of course if the noise complaints gets to the board of health then they will come and check it out and determen if they are a nusence but the lady was really nice.

Here i go off to the town hall.

i was out in my coop yesterday, and i was going to move leroy polish roo to the other side of coop, as i am letting him out of one cage to go into the other he did nothing but crow, and i thought, oh no, he isnt going into a pen that faces my house/bedroom.
maybe you can direct the pens away from neighbors? just a thought

hehehe well we have the zoneing and the board of health on oue side, my landlord has over 7 acers of land, and as long as we have them 10 feet from property line we we are entiltled for the permit, the zoneing guy said that if the guy comes back in to complain he is gonna say to him ( well its nice to talk to your neighbors huh even when they try to talk to you and you walk away) hahaha so all and all he know s now that it is just grumpy neighbors that have issue over property lines, and that we havw all of rooster in and no one can hear them, so if any complaints i think he is just gonna ignore them.

He said we should be all set,
