Utah!

Hi Tankgirl. I just had to say that I love your handle

Hope the ladies love their new coop.

Thanks Lilwanis! So far so good! I have even been getting some eggs still!! I was counting on them stopping laying from the shock of a "move". They seem to be getting the concept of the roosting bars as too, so I'm a pretty happy camper right now.

So. I'm getting nervous about my hatch. I put them in lock down one day early as to decrease pips on the wrong end. I guess we'll see. I only have 5 eggs in there. :( so let's hope they hatch!!!

ace, what are you hatching? i dont think my broodys eggs are going to hatch and i want some just hatched chicks to put under her.

I'm hatching 4 icelandics from birdguy and a wheaten x EE. I'll see what hatches. If I have one or two I'm not keeping I'll let you know. I know Lisa has some big hatches coming up too.

Also, I have 5 hatching eggs: black Australorp crossed with a SLWxGLW roo if anyone is interested.

Dont you use a brinsea mini advance? i just bought one, should be here thursday.

Cynthia that Silvery NN is sprouting tail feathers today at 3 days old and she has some nice colored feathers coming in on her wings. Did you still think you might want her/him? Let me know. Maybe we can make a trade. HeHe.

It's so darn cute....but..guess what finally came..and I thought they were lost in the mail? Yes, NN eggs. They are actually doing well..and I have one lonely one in lock down. I thought I wasn't going to have any good eggs by the time they got here, but they are showing bulls eyes.. so, I should be getting some soon.
What were you wanting to trade? I have LF cochins left. I sold all of the bantams that I wanted to. Post another photo of your NN. I was also wondering about the color, most black and white chicks turn out to be males. Most. I have an EE out there that is black and white, with brown feathering on her, she lays me nice mint green eggs. Pretty girl. You just never know.

Awesome that your got your NN's. I hope they all hatch out for your. :D I will get some more photos of the one you liked for you. I really don't need to trade her out if you don't want too. But I don't have a Cochin…. They are all starting to get feathers in, they look so different already. And the Serama Mixes are so dang cute. I will try to get photos of them later today. I'm off to the Tracy Aviary with my Girl Scout Troop this morning, and then after that we have our World Thinking Day. So its going to be a very busy scout day today.

Christina, congrats on the grand opening, you have worked so HARD and for so long, I am so happy for you! Hope your DH continues to get better.
I wish I lived closer, this looks like a fun place you have!!

Thanks Lisa!!! Yes, so hard (not like I had anything else to do around here with the entire house being updated and a new addition being added, the horses who need training for the NRHA shows, the apiary which is being enlarged, and our new property which we are clearing). Craig keeps saying he wants to retire but I can't help but keep growing, with my business opportunities...lol. Have always been a workaholic and had my own businesses on the side, for the last 30 years. We still vacation and that is great, but I can't be idle. I figure our last trip to the West Indies and the Virgin Islands was good enough to wait another couple years to leave the states again...lol.

DH will be going back to work on Monday (sigh). It's been a tough time of things since he was diagnosed in November, with a week long stay at the Huntsman Center after a six hour long surgery. Now considered cancer free, for now. A blessing and miracle!!

Nice Christina! Congrats on the grand opening so very exciting!
Thanks Karen!!! Been a lot of work overcoming obstacles and delays... many of which should have ever been there.

Desert, your grand opening sounds AMAZING. I hope it's a huge success. Glad your husband is resting up and recovering well. I've been thinking about him a LOT. Glad you hired someone to help you with everything going on.

Kimmy, I have two legbar hens. Unfortunately, I lost my rooster. I want to move this spring, so I don't want to acquire anything new until I know where I'm moving. Desert Springs is going to be the way to go on legbars right now. Or possibly Donna, if she materializes again.

Thanks Wendy. It's building momentum fast!!! My SQ Choc Orps, SQ BBS Orps and SQ Lav Orp chicks are all spoken for, for the entire 2014 year.... some people driving almost 400 miles, from out of state to pick up. Had an order for 65 Delaware chicks this morning, and another 10 were previously spoken for. EEEK!! Plus, just last year I couldn't find good help.... this year I have a list of people who want to come work for me. Incredible!! I just don't want to get any bigger, contrary to what the public is requesting...lol. The two feed stores in this area are sporting my business cards on their counters now, at their request!!! I've always believed honesty and integrity meant a lot in a business; it's not all about the money. However. since this is a business, and no longer a hobby, I don't have the time to enjoy the chickens like I used to.

I don't have time to get on much, and it took me forever to catch up, so I finally just jumped current when I posted. Hope things are going well with you. BTW: I purchased ALL of Corvidae's crested Legbars last fall. She may have a couple uncrested; I didn't buy those. Did you want me to find out?? I know she was having problems at her property with thieves, and I had started running surveillance on it when I got that far west, but think she was burnt out with the chicken thing. She had started her focus on Whitmore Welsummers last I saw her.

nice to see you back! glad you are still doing the legbars. one day i will get one

Hello, hello. Not actually back...lol... just stopped in. I bought the Legbar flock from Corvidae last year to add to my few, and they are producing!!! I think I have 6 hens and three unrelated roos. When you're ready for one, you know where to find it.

I just picked up 2 LF barred Cochin today. The ifa in american fork has a lot of different breeds. The had blue, buff, and barred Lf Cochins. They also have a large selection of bantams. Im lucky i left with only 2 chicks.
