Utah!

Oh Cynthia, those chickies.........
love.gif
I so needed to see those pictures today!

And if anyone wants, I'd still be happy to work out some kind of relay to get chicks from Cynthia and bring them partway. I'm in West Valley, so if anyone north of there is wanting to save on some drive time/gas, talk to me and maybe we could work something out.

Also, I'm very disappointed to be doing this, but......would anyone be interested in taking Jerry? He's in his own little run right now because my bigger rooster just will not have him around, and I don't want him to get beat up. I can see that he obviously needs some bird company right now, but I don't dare let him out for fear he'd get the daylights kicked out of him. If anyone can have roosters and would like him, he's free. I want to hold on to him long enough to make sure we've got him cleaned up (he had mites when we got him) and then I can give him to you. He's a little skittish about being caught, but isn't aggressive at all.

Thought I'd better add, too, that he's still kind of haggard-looking from being hen-pecked at the last place, but he's looking better than when we got him. He's usually pretty quiet, too. So, if'n ya want him, hit me up!

Red, I may take you up on the West Valley offer. On the other hand, I'd love to meet Cynthia and handpick my chicks.... And just think, my chicks will be hatching in just a couple days, so my little babies will have buddies.

I can technically have roosters (I think? Zoning is weird- I'm zoned for a .20 lot, but I actually have over an acre, so I've chosen to read the zoning rules per acre, instead of suburban rules, teehee), but I was thinking about maybe having my rooster be another BCM (and a RLBW, if those chickens show promise, and I set up a separate pen for them...).

Oooh, a BCM would be pretty! Or I guess "handsome" would be the proper term, since I've had someone get after me for calling a male bird pretty, heh. If roosters got along better, I'd have so many of them. They're fun to watch strut around and chatter to the hens.

edit..still don't know how to delete a post..probably has a delete spot right in front of my eyes. :p

Cynthia those babies are precious precious precious. They look like cotton candy and marshmallows all in one :)
I am so excited! I do want an Aussie chick. So I can come right after they hatch if that is ok :) Or if someone is headed your way and could get them a little closer to me I would not mind making a trip ealier for these, fun to have them when they are little. I am in Logan so could easily drive to Ogden/Layton/Clearfield on a Saturday or Sunday. The price is great, for all that work and expense, I am grateful to pay $7 ea!
I still just cannot believe how great your hatch went. Hope we all get one girl haha if I get two roosters I would be right back on KSL but it is totally worth the try, they are gorgeous!! AND....if your black/blue splash hatch goes well I would love to get one of those, with my Aussie and the two lavs ok? Then I will have my four. And then my boy has the last choice and I believe he is looking for a Polish if anyone on here has eggs or will be hatching any. He likes the buffs, or the black ones with white crests alot. Then---NO MORE CHICKS! Ha ha! there I said it, now can I stick to it....seems like last Spring I remember saying no more than 4...here we are at an even dozen and a coop expansion project underway. Poor DH :) I am grateful he is a good sport! And my neighbors :celebrate

If you get the BCM roo, you could breed him with your blue egg laying AM Lav from Cynthia and get 1st generation olive eggers :) That is what the black EE's are I got from Cynthia! That would be cool :) I saw some 12 wk old pullets for sale on KSL awhile ago for $25 each. Nice pocket change!

How quiet is pretty quiet-----? Maybe.....

I don't think I've ever heard him cluck. He does crow a little. I think the first time he goes off is around 6:00 in the morning for a few minutes. He'll do it again around 11:00 am, I believe. Once I heard him crow at something like 1:00 in the afternoon, but that was right after we got him, so I think he was protesting being penned while the other rooster ran free with the girls.

Better not have any 6 a.m. crowing my neighbors will likely be upset :rolleyes: Hope you can find someone to take him. KSL may work, my mean EE I had to get rid of was on there and I had lots of calls :)
