Utah!

a HUMAN body! For REALZ! The neighbor two doors down evidently had alzheimers pretty severely and should've been in a rest home. For whatever reason, the family didn't do that. They just took turns bringing her meals and looking in on her. One evening, after someone had brought her dinner, she got disoriented and wandered out of her house and into my backyard. It was winter, and she laid down and went to sleep in the yard. Never woke up. Former owners found her the next morning. It was kind of sad, if you ask me.

I dug out the tarp and there were no more bodies. I was hoping for pretty glass bottles now that I know that's possible, so I'm a little disappointed.
WOW!! Don't even know what to say to that!!

I took the kids to Thanksgiving Point today, and my 5 year old was so very sad with their chickens. Just about all of them had plucked out feathers on their heads, tails, and their backs were horrible. Just about all of them had bright red patchy skin on their backs. She even said to someone there, why are your chickens sick. Even thought I tried to tell her I think they were beating each other up. But could they have some kind of illness? She was so very sad, she wanted to go in and love them all. They did have some Silkies that were by themselves thank god, and they had all their feathers, but after taking a good look at their's I really wonder if I have 2 Roos, but then again they are only 2 1/2 months old. They did have a Buff, White, Black and a Partridge one, and mine don't look anything like there's. Mine are so funky looking, their awesome. I love each one, and will be sad to see 2 go, maybe I will try and sneak them all here. lol. Besides their not chickens till they are 1 years old right.
That's what chicken math says.... not counted until they are mature!!

Cynthia, do you still have that splash Silkie?

I don't have it, but my friend is saving it. Can you come tomorrow..Fir...to get it? She will be coming this way, and I could have her bring it.
Sending a p.m. so you can call me in the morning. Call around 9:30..they are coming over around 10:30. They will probably be here for a couple of hrs..having them and missionaries over for lunch.

Hmmm, acemario, those are tough to tell on your wyandottes. Occasionally, wyandottes can throw single combs, but that single combed chick is definitely not a purebred slw.

Chickens aren't chickens til they're a year old OR they start crowing.

Hmmm. Thanks for your input. I guess only time will tell. Here's to hoping!

What breed could the grey colored one be? Some kind of Buff? I honestly have no idea!

6/8 of my remaining Icelandic eggs that were under my broody are magically gone today

I had three good eggs under her. Now I have one egg and one chick, which must have hatched in the last 24 hours. I think someone took my eggs. I am so upset! I have been trying so hard to expand my Icelandic flock, and now my precious eggs are gone. I really hope this one chick survives.
