Utah!

Update: She looks like she has alot more energy today. Eyes are open more and she's standing a little bit. No walking though. Still seems tierd and wont eat/drink on her own. I crushed some of her food into almost a powder and mixed it with water, egg, and some vitamin and fed it to her through a syringe and she took it ok :) Looking much better but still seems lethargic. I'm hoping i'll see her start to eat/drink on her own soon.

I know this is gross but I wanted to show how nasty her head looked when it was wet. And this doesent even show the true extent of it.This was after her bath when the bugs were dead, you could clearly see how bad they were all over her head, and why I ended up cutting her beautiful crest off right after this picture cause I knew I wouldnt be able to see or control the mess once her huge poof dried.. Im still so sad about it.

And this other picture is how she is looking this morning. Look at that sad looking buzzed head. But her eyes are open more now and she's alive :)

ok my next posts are going to be picture over loads. But first I would like to address a few things. I visit the fairgrounds twice a day to feed and water my own chickens, I also keep my own cages clean., The reason some judging is held behind closed doors is that some exhibitors get out of hand and cause scenes during the judging. Apparently Cache Valley has had a problem in the past and has chosen to have closed judging. Salt lake county fair has its judging open. I was able to ask questions to the judge after the judging was done. If your are unhappy the way your local fair is run then I suggest you put it in writing and offer to help next year, Salt Lake county have 5 caretakers in the building all the time, Building is locked at night. In this post I have pictures of my seramas and their placings.Psyco best Serama and best cockrel

Did you check your other birds

GBO: What did you put in this year? There were some nice bantams, I figured some of those had to be yours! They have only been putting the scratch on the floors of cages again this year as far as I could tell. I super hate the moving them from cage to cage, might have to check out the BE Fair next year, I have never been!
They won't let me show over there. I showed over there years ago but then they found out I lived in Box elder county so no more. My friend showed the bantam welsummers. It was his first time showing and got first place his trio and first on his single hen.

I really like your Houdan.

The Boxelder fair starts on the 18th

Hey guys I have Americana hatching eggs for sale. $4 per dozen. Call and ask for tell at 801-798-0850 if you are interested. I also have olive egger/Americana hatching eggs too $3 per dozen

Here they have been getting watermelon, or at least the rinds with some good stuff still on it...zucchini too. Also rice, we always cook up extra and she seemed to be the first one at the scrap bowl for the rice. And of course the corn! I hope she sticks close, here they are fenced in so she must not be used to the open border!
Rice I have! LOL
My yard is fenced but maybe it's not as tall as she is used to? It's 5 feet I think...
Today she enjoyed some leftover cake pieces as I was cutting one for my son's birthday and making a small two layer from one rectangle. The girls were mighty puzzled about it but all but one ended up enjoying. LOL

Cake? SHE is spoiled already, haha she is going to love you so much! We have a five foot fence also, never went over but there are black labs on the side that is chain link so she can see them, and the other side is solid but there are a row of lilacs and honeycuckle in front of the fence much higher than the fence, so maybe that deterred her :D Hope she behaves, maybe if the girls are becoming more accepting she won't feel like fleeing so much. Thepic you sent this morning was awesome, looks like they are best buds already <3
