Utah!

Cynthia, what's bad is that that isn't the first time I have substituted chicken verbage into everyday use.

Somehow I missed that your lav passed. I'm glad that she went out peacefully, though. Don't feel bad about feeling relieved. I would feel the same way, had it been one of my birds. Just knowing that they don't have to suffer any more is a huge relief.

So, switching gears a bit, I'm sorry to inundate you all with turkey pictures (well, not really)

Turkeys like to drink from the hose. Who knew?

Hey, Mom? When did we plant poultry in the lettuce pot? Although, that would explain why the lettuce disappeared....

The three BR's. The foremost there is Lenny (a spoof on 'lean') I looked him over today. He's got the whole Quasimodo thing going on, but he's finally starting to calm down when I touch him. These three and the turkeys follow me everywhere in the yard. If I go inside, they camp out on the doorstep and wait for me to come back. I walked out in the garden with them today and showed them where some bugs were. They thought it was great. And then the turkeys decided to 'share' the peach I was eating. Oh brother

Oh my gosh! I just saw those babies! has Sasha seen those? Or Hattie? They like those bantams. Those are soooo cute, I love the really distinct black and white and gray. If those were LF I would be in big big big trouble. Esp where I am headed straight to you tomorrow.
Hey wait! Doesn't Gamebirdsonly have those? Would love to see the adult pics. Dang cute chicks.

Agreed! Bantams just aren't a huge temptation for me right now, so I'm feeling pretty safe.

Oh come on Wendy, not even one that will grow up like this? Well, I can hope anyway. :)

Red, my chickens drink from the hose, but not when it's on that hard, I leave it on a tiny bit, they will come and drink from that more often than from the water in the containers, and I keep it fresh throughout the day. I guess that's more..fresh. :)
That's a cute picture there, a turkey drinking from that hose.

Hi everyone!
I have a couple chickens available to head south from Logan on the chicken shuttle....I will be in SLC tomorrow morning for the Walk for the cure of Juvenile Diabetes and could bring something that far, or if it needs to go farther, we can call on sweet Lisa. :) I have 2 bantam Polish roos, both white crested, one black and one cuckoo frizzled. (so cool) I also have a LF gold lace Polish, Elvis. Should lay ANY day now. She's a pretty girl, except for a couple crooked toes, but they don't slow her down at all.

Sphinx, I'm so sorry your Lav couldn't be saved. I do understand about being relieved, though. She's not suffering anymore, and I'm sure she died while in a happy state of mind, out in the grass.

Red, you are SO funny :) I love you! I've done the same thing...I saw something last week that made me do a double take. It was written on a utility trailer, and I thought it said Black Austrolorpe. Doh!

Lisa, I'm so happy your DD is feeling better. :)

Cynthia! When did you get birchen bantams??? They are SO cute. I didn't look at the big picture, are they cochins?

There was a new member...Lil-something...I'm bad. Welcome!

I've been so busy. I know I always say that, and I always think things will "calm down" after I get the next project done....but then I start a new project and it's bigger than the one before .

I have a job interview with Petsmart on Sunday afternoon! Wish me luck! I'm going to need the extra income to support my chicken breeding program next year! Pens to separate/build and coops to build. :) Not to mention, more $$ to help in the remodeling of the house.

Oh yeah....I still don't have any new layers, although I have a couple girls squatting and making a lot more noise. :) Hedwig, bless her heart, has laid a pretty egg for me every day for the last 6 days straight! Only thing is, they are more green than blue. Oh, well. I still tell her thank you for her hard work. She's become quite the sweetheart since she started laying.

Well, nutpastries! Both of my black Ameraucana's are boys. I was really hoping for a girl out of them, but at least I have their sister, who's a blue Amer. Since my Wyandotte, Steve, turned out to be a girl, I'll be keeping one of the Amer's as my rooster. The other is free to anyone on here who wants him. He's purebred, and very handsome. Still filling in, but his feathers have always been in nicer shape than Arthur's, who I'm keeping. Give me a poke if you'd like him.

Sasha, good luck! You'll nail it. Just remember to smile

I have a black EE that is a pullet..for sure. She's been outside in the run and coop, no light. She's around two months old..I think. I'm losing track..!
Do you want her? Are those black Ameraucanas from me? No problem for me to give her up, I have a loot of babies to watch now. I have 4 laying hens now, getting a lot of eggs. I'm thinking either my blue EE, or the Wheaton I'm keeping will be next, so will be a while yet. Thinking the end of Sept..or the first part of Oct. This EE should start around Christmas ~ sorry, more waiting..but it sure would make a nice Christmas present if she laid an pretty blue green egg before Christmas, or close to it. :)

Sasha, yes, those are Cochins. :) And, I'm thinking I wouldn't mind getting a gold laced Polish. I don't mind crooked toes at all...have Lisa bring her along..and let me know how much. Lisa can return with the cash.

Sasha I can take your Elvis to Cynthia, I am headed to lay down I have a killer migraine....I will pm you my DH's number, call him and we can figure out when to pick Elvis up. In Salt lake maybe? or at your place on our way out of town if someone else is home? let him know ok :) I have not slept all week so am going to rest tonight and try to sleep in a bit in the morning so if you will call him that would be great !

Red is wondering what time you will be going home tomorrow after me...bless your heart..I hate migraines..she may take my EE.

Take a half an IBprofen, and an Exedrin. Works pretty good. Get some rest.

OK, Cynthia! She's free to you. :) I know she'll have a good home. She's a little spazzy, but I think she'll settle down once she starts laying. Polish seem to be this way.
I'm leaving at 7:30am, and Howard will be home, but he will be sleeping. (works night shift). I'll call your DH and talk with him, Lisa. :) Sleep tight!

I see, that you saw. :) Thanks Sasha! She will go in with my Silkies at first, they won't know what to do with spazzy..that's a good thing, they are bossy at first.
