Utah!

I think slvrphoenix talked me into doing a hatch for new years eve....Going to hope for some BCM and Wheaten Ameraucana chicks. Guess we will see how many eggs I can get. don't really want to do any mixes to start off but will see what we can get.

Don't think I talked you into it. Think you did it all yourself.

Good luck will send good thoughts for you.

We will have plenty of eggs to hatch. Right now I have the BCM Rooster with the BCM Hens and the silver laced wyandotte.

The Ameraucana Roo. is with the 2 ameraucana hens and the 2 cuckoo maran hens.

Then of course we have the Blue Breasted Old English...(right now my favorites...they are so pretty) and of course cute little creamy eggs.

Just have to decide when to start hatching.

I have every thing ready, just not sure when I want to start hatching. I am thinking early so they start laying sooner, just not sure how early.

I want some BCM pullets so save me a couple

Geez Diana! That sounds crazy seriousl! I hope everything goes smoothly. Will have you in thoughts and prayers!
I had talked to Blujems and Daloorashens both about hatching some of their BCM eggs in the spring when we got those birds. I am sure there will be chicks available! And I am headed back over to pawtraitarts again in the Spring as well. So sad yours died! We will get you hooked up with some new ones

Congrats on your champion cats too! They are amazing.
Hope you feel better soon! Which hospital is doing your surgery? I cannot believe you have to go through that. And you are showing cats 2 days prior. You should sloooow down girl.

I will be at Jordan valley. I showed the cats yesterday and today to keep my mind off tomorrow. Worked great.

Lisa, you have such a pretty flock. Too bad you can't keep those roos, so pretty.
You must be getting a lot of eggs!

Well, it snowed for a straight 4 hrs here, and it wasn't a light snow. Now, the sky is blue! Yaay! Going to be sooo cold tonight. Lisa..you don't have much snow!!

The snow is awful here. I came home from the cat show and went out to check on the chickens. I had on rubber boots that go up to my knees. Snow was so deep it went over the top of my boots and over the top of my knees. My pants were soaked, Is anyone brooding chicks? I have two little babies in the aquarium in my living room. I would like to put them with some other chicks. They are about 2 weeks old

I am amazed that we have less snow than you guys up that way. I almost wish it would snow again cause it would warm up a little.

Ha! Just a little nudge then.

So Blujems starts off the 2013 hatching season with a hatch on New years Eve. Perfect! Lol! I swore i would wait til "next year". Maybe I will start on NY day....:p

Cynthia...I have 19 or 20? laying now, 2 started this week so just an egg or two from those girls...and got 91 eggs this week total from Monday morning until now! Woot! I sold 5 dozen, all the bigger ones...the rest are too small to sell, so we are trying to keep up. I have older kids with families that will take those off my hands when they pile up :) It is pretty fun to go out there and get eggs in the morning, the first trip out I almost run, I am so excited to see what I will find. I really love this chicken hobby :love We are having a chicken party when we hit 100 eggs per week, we decided we would get them 1 bag of mealy worms and a cheese/veggie pizza. (their favorite!) haha! So naughty, but they have earned it. (My Dh delivers pizza p/t so he brings them goodies)

Problem is, I love the babies too. Ha ha. So the circle continues....we were outside today, measuring and deciding what to do for Spring with our new garden. My Dh actually said "You need a bigger coop on the other end, we better figure out something".....HIS words! AND he said the run needs to be longer. Woot! My son is saving the egg money for his college fund. So why not, right? But it is getting to be some work, which I really do not mind....but with that and the cost of feed....I better not get too many more. Famous last words, I swear I have said that before....my neighbors are enabling me too they really like the colorful eggs :D

Awww you guys are so mushy, I think you need "roostered" to break up all that happy bliss. Psshht. haha.
And Blujems, stop wishing for snow! The groundwater over here in the swamp is outta control already.

I just don't do good with cold....and it is getting colder. Luckily we managed to dry out a bit, we were drowning for awhile.

Fair warning all roosters that come around end up as dinner. The Monster can't seem to get enough.
