Valentine's day hatch -a-long

My total was 23 out of 30 that developed. 6 did nothing, they were eggs I collected during a cold spell so they were likely damaged from that. One pipped and died. Not too bad for a winter hatch.

Mine sometimes take a 12+ hour nap after initial pip, so I wouldn't be worried about it until tomorrow.
She's out!!! looking good and spunky. almost dry in incubator- 4 hours now
and other 4 eggs arent' pipped yet but are wiggling and internally pipped for 24+(?) hours. Should i move her to brooder?

I find that the 1st tends to take the longest to hatch. Once out, her peeping encourages the others to move it along and break out of those shells. Plus keeping the incubator closed keeps the humidity & temp stable. I open 1x per day to very quickly remove chicks - about 24hrs after the 1st chick is out. (I also mist the side wall of the incubator to return the humidity Others feel that you should never open the incubator until ALL the hatching is done, but I've never made it that long.

I've made a humidity tent to drape over incubator with two humidifers and a tent and a ladder. If i need to adjust things I get that cranking and monitor temps and % Rh carefully. I have a Incuview and it really likes to stay at 70%. makes me wonder if the air exchange is good enough.

okay I thought i read 24 hours somewhere for the first chick to live off of yolk still
thanks!

Just got home from work - looked in the incubator - nothing, no zips, so I candled: One blood ring, two stopped progressing.
Got the coffee brewing & a chicken pot pie baking - I've got internal pips and they can't reach the shell-they've got big saddle shaped air cells. One is totally upside down, including the air cell? Air cell is on the bottom, the chick is upside down. :caf Looks like I'm assisting the hatch - I've got a long night ahead of me....
