Vamp's hatching crew! who cares what day u r on!Hatch with us!

In my previous post, I talked about the OE Crele eggs I'm going to get that are already started under a broody hen. They will be somewhere around day 8 or so when I transfer them (from 1 mile up the road) The other eggs will be day 1 eggs put in at the same time.

I didn't consider needing to raise the humidity on 18 for the Creles....ugh.

Any advise, or should I just forgo doing the Crele eggs so the others don't "mess up" during the Creles last 3 days?

TIA

I am removing 2 non-fertile today, recandled and they are duds. So I'm down to 6. But since I bought 6 and have 6 fertile, that's not bad. Day 12 for me!!!

Thank you! The lid will most definitely be staying closed.

I've already threatened my children to keep their HANDS OFF until all of the chicks are DONE hatching!

I've made that plain and clear. I told them they would kill them all if they open the bator, so I think they are scared to touch it now!

I have 33 eggs left out of the initial 42 that I started with, so we'll see how many hatch. I'm going for all 33!!!

Good luck on your six! I'll have my fingers crossed for you too!

The lady with the Crele eggs, she wants them gone because her broody hen is holding up production lol. She wants her hens back to business, so she'd giving me the ones already being set on.

I don't know a soul with an incubator...

Oh what's a new chick mama to do. I can't bear to think those already started eggs might be tossed out, but yet am worried about ruining my other 2 dozen eggs that will be in the bator

My day 11 cadle report:
Out of 15 eggs:
3 have movement
4 see embryo just didn't see it move
1 might be a blood ring keeping an eye on it
3 ??'s I just can't tell
3 yolkers
1 looks clear.

I think it's looking good so far. Not bad for shipped eggs.

I have a bator full due in 2 weeks. I'm getting a bit worried on some of them as I saw a post that that lady's eggs were hatching out deformed:( when she shipped them. I've got eggs from 4 different places in the bator though so hoping for many many good ones and hoping the ones don't come out deformed. I can't bear just throwing out the ones as they may come out just fine. CRossing fingers!

Hi all....I'm new to BYC, and have enjoyed following this thread. I decided I'd join...

So far, I have 3 different hatches of laying chicks thanks to a couple of broody Buff Orps. I have a clutch currently under another hen, but have no idea what day she is on. Discovered her in the corner of one of my goat sheds...lol. She has about 20 eggs under her. My laying flock has Australorps, Araucaunas, RIR, Buff Orps, and Barred Rocks. The rooster is a White Columbian Wyandotte, so this years chicks are F1 crosses by him.
I have fallen in love with Dutch Bantams, and have about 31 eggs coming from an awesome breeder in Colorado. In fact, they are due here today. So, I went and bought an incubator....a first for me. I always just use a broody hen...(gotta love those Orps!) These eggs are coming from SQ, proven stock so I didn't want to risk using a hen.
So, I'll have to update once I get those eggs in and going. Incubator is primed and set, waiting to do it's job!
