Vent gleet withdrawal?

Are you talking about this hen?

How are you using your Canesten cream - giving it orally or topically? If applying topically to the vent area, I would not worry about egg withdrawal. If you are giving it orally...you will have to come up with a timeline you are most comfortable with on egg withdrawal. That is an off label use, so I don't think you will find an data/research on it's use.

If it is the hen in that other thread, she has quite the droopy bottom. Does she still lay eggs?
I also noticed you had another thread where you are dealing with worms...looks like tapeworm. I would treat all the hens as recommended in that thread. That may also be part of the stinky poop your hen is having.

Hey! I still plan on working them, I’m just frustrated that there isn’t anything poultry specific that has scientific data regarding effects on eggs. Grrr. You would think that would be a given! I just started my hen on ACV (1.5 tbs for 2 cups water) yogurt, and I am going to give her 1 tsp epsoms to 1 ounce water only one time for a flush (all google based). The cream will be if this doesn’t clear up and will be topical. I looked and her poop doesn’t have the tape worm bits in it. She just has the messy, smelly butt.

I would still worm the whole flock - there were a lot of segments in the photo in your other thread. Not every single poop is going to have segments and if all your chickens are together, likely all of them have some worm load, some may handle it better than others.

Thank you! I just finished reading that. What does the WE/Y/A mean in the residue after treatment?
I just grabbed a random page - if you will look at the "bottom" of those pages, there is an explanation of what those abbreviations mean.
