This is my first time dealing with this-

I just received from another person 2 chickens with vent gleet. I gave them a molasses flush then replaced that with water, apple cider vinegar and garlic clove. I took their grains away and giving them all protein as well as plain keifer once a day. Cleaned them up and once a day am giving them and Epsom salt/lavender soak, dried them off and rubbed them down with coconut & thieves oil mixture.

Their vent area and tummies no longer look near bloody and irritated. I was rather excited last night and felt like I was making progress but when I went out this morning they still have a lot of yellow, very gross and smelly discharge.

The chickens are acting well, eat well and look great ( all but their vent & tummies) and still are laying fine.

Is there anything else I should be doing? How long does this last?
