Definitely! I'm not sure how long. I'm thinking 3 more days or so. I really want to get her back out there. I think she'll be so much happier. She has the biggest comb and it's flopped down now but still bright red. I think a little sunshine again should help. How long did you let yours heal before letting her back out?

I think you're right. I think it will be safe to put her back, so long as the prolapse stays put for another day or two, and the scabbing is over. Other hens may peck at scabs if they see them.

Actually, to be honest, I'd probably go ahead and put her back and see how it goes. I'm not trying to be a bad influence, or anything, but I didn't keep mine separated from the flock for as long as you have. My hen stayed in a large dog porter in the run. After I saw that her prolapse stay in for two days and no scabs, I went ahead and let her out. Maybe it wasn't the most intelligent thing to do, but it ended up working out fine.

I'd also wager to say that when you do let her back out, she will likely not lay an egg for at least another couple of days, until she gets enough sunlight, nutrition, and feels good enough to do so.

That's a good idea. She has had no scabs. Actually looks really good back there. Light pale pink. Her dropping the day before yesterday looked a little off but have gotten better. I think it was from all the tomatoes because for a day and a half that's all I could get her to eat.I would like to put her back out today but I leave so early in the morning for work didn't want to leave her in the dark and not be able to watch how the others interact with her after being gone for a half

I'm not sure what it was from. My white hens usually lay the smaller eggs compared to the Rhode Island Reds. My reds are usually the double yolks she's been laying already for about six months. We've gotten some larger white ones they didn't seem too large but maybe one was

. Thanks so much. Quite an ordeal it felt like. I can relax a little again instead when I am home. I didn't mind the extra care...it was seeing her miserable that made nerves shot.

Is there a suggestion on reintroducing back in. I heard sometimes they don't remember and my RIR already took awhile to accept the white ones I don't want them to harm her. I am at work long hours this week and they will be in the run till neighbor boy lets them out at noon so I don't want to take any chances. Any suggestions or thoughts
