Very random question, but how fast can you type?

Ha! I was just going to say that while I don't know how fast I type, I know I could double my speed if we got rid of the QWERTY system. That arrangement was actually set to keep people from typing so fast that the keys got jammed. Now that we have left manual typewriters to history books, there is no reason to keep QWERTY.

As a teacher I would practice typing with my students the first quarter of each year. I would certainly be willing to spend a bit of time practicing a faster keyboard layout if it were available.

Yea, they are there. You just have to go to the control panel an change the keyboard layout there then if you want you can pop the keys off an move them to the new location.

I keep mine on QWERT because others use it but its set up that ctrl+ shift switches it to the Dvorak left handed lay out. Have not used it enough to learn it yet. I think anyone disabled though should be started on it though.

I use the qwerty layout as that's what i have grown up with haha, but i am used to it and it doesnt seem to impact how fast i type now that i dont need to look at the keys, i know where they all are.

Twenty-eight years of QWERTY....no way I'd ever type faster on Dvorak.

I suppose I've got a ways to go. My friends' jaws would be going through the floor and beyond if they watched any of you typing.
