The trapper is here and he and my husband are working on a plan! He is pretty sure that it is a mink from our description of what went down. Between us we have 3 live traps and these are what we will try first. Says that fresh fish or chicken insides are what we will use for bait. I'm so excited to have someone who really knows what he is doing here to help us!

BONUS: He is a chicken person also! He "gets it"!

I'll keep you all posted and w/pics when we get something!

Caught him in a live trap with a live sparrow as bait (sparrow still alive-he is in a tiny cage inside the live trap !

Congrats on getting the culprit! That is a great idea using live bait, he just couldn't resist it. Sorry 'bout your loss tho, seems like we all experience that at some time...
