Very sick chickens

Sorry for your losses ☹️ I’m not sure if anyone suggested this or not but first thing that should be done is do a chicken quarantine. There are supplements as I know you probably have seen or even tried to help give them a little boost. We have used the R.E.S.T (Remove from flock, Electrolytes, Scrambled eggs, Temperature Control) method on some of our sick birds in the past which helped (see link)

The temperature here in Florida is so wonky right now (Hot to Cold) and if they started laying eggs… that can take a lot out of them too.

Take my two cents for what this it worth as I am not any expert or vet. I hope your vet gives you some answers and helps rule out any kind of virus. The bird flu is in Florida but has only hit wild birds so far. Another option you could do is contact your local UF/AG department.

Today, when I opened the coop, one of the hens that would not walk yesterday, was waiting at the door to be let out. She is still laying around alot, but does get up and walk around occasionally. We gave them a cut open papaya and she ran across the yard and jumped on it and was eating! First time she has eaten on her own in 3 days. We have been feedin the 3 sick ones twice a day with a syringe. The vet gave us a packet of Emeraid IC omnivore. We mix it with water and shoot it in their mouth with a syringe. I bought some pedialyte and we have been giving that twice a day also. I keep researching this onlineand I found a thread talking about Saveachick. I looked for reviews and they are very high. We are going to the local tractor supply and get some today. The hens seem a little better today except for the worst one. She is like in a coma, she is breathing and she does move around occasionally. When we give her the food and pedialyte, she thrashes around, but other than that, its like she is asleep. I feel like if we can just keep them alive long enough, that whatever is hurting them will pass. Praying.
