Yeah that is a little warm for two weeks,try raising the heat lamp if you can.do thay have feathers?

I don't know what could be wrong, do they have a correct chick feed? Do they have access to water? Maybe they are a little too hot, make sure they are able to get far enough away from the lamp.

I was feeding them layer feed could that have done it?
They're on chick starter now.

I'm very sorry that you lost another chick.....

It's so heartbreaking.

I've heard that layer feed contains too high a calcium content for growing chicks. Whenever we've put new chicks in the coop with the big girls, we like to switch out the layer pellets for starter grower (there's also the possibility of all-flock feed) to prevent problems for the babies. It's really tough to maintain that balance between sufficient calcium for the laying hens without allowing the littles to get ahold of too much. I'm sure the rest of your babies will be just fine.
