Is she not a faithful broody generally?
She has never been broody before.
Spice is the only one that has been broody every year except when she was a chick of course. She will be two years old in April I think

Three eggs today, none from marshmallow or Dot or Pebbles. Sweetie might have layed one. Snowberry was in the nest box when I came in and when I left, I can't tell if she's broody or not, I'll know in the morning. Raspberry only gets off the nest when I make her.
Spice was walking around the coop didn't have too much of an interest in the nests, I think if I gave her eggs and her own pen she would stay on the nest. She's easily distracted or gets kicked off the nest. Last year when she was broody she didn't get off the nest often.
I've recently joined and have been reading your threads from way back, you certainly go through some chickens, I started two years ago with two, then got another two- they have both recently died. I still have the original two an Australop, I'm from Australia so had to get one of them, didn't realise they come in different colours? Or did I misread that bit.
Anyway, glad your marshmallow is still about she's lovely.
Sorry must have read it wrong, 2 chicken in that time you must be doing it right.![]()
