You can train your aussie not to bother your animals. My aussie doesnt bother any of our animals unless hes told to. Ive never had any problems with any of the aussies ive had bothering our birds or other animals.

no,without training most will kill your chickens,,herding is a highly developed prey drive that is trained to do what you want them to..edit to add,depends on where you get one from,some of the show lines have the pretty bred into them and the herding has kind of went to the wayside..
